Emedicine.ie software provides two points of easy and quick access :

1. Menu of major medical specialties leads to common 'problem areas'
- ie - Topics where second opinions are frequently sought - and examinations set !

2. The 'search' facility allows quick access to specific items or phrases.

• The system is problem-oriented , and designed to aid diagnostic/management approach in a way different from classical textbook or computer-based literature-searching systems.
  - these usually start with a known disease rather than with a yet unknown presenting symptom or lab result.
  - Emedicine aims to fill the gap.
• For those in a hurry, the management flowcharts guide investigation of each topic in a one page outline for quick scanning.
• A standard taskbar lists introduction, management, differentials, and literature references.
• The 'MCQ' taskbar button provides pertinent question and answer cases for most Topics, with an answer button to reveal 'best choice'.
• The 'Forum' button encourages user feedback to the Editorial Board.
